Ilatraia is Brancaia’s top wine from the coastal district of Maremma - it is full-bodied and impressive, with its freshness, precision and elegance; showing a perfect balance between maturity and finesse. With intense aromas of black fruit, it is extremely silky and polished, and has the supple tannins that are typical of the Tuscan coast. The combination of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc shows the full beauty of this terroir, not least because the three grape varieties can ripen perfectly without requiring irrigation. Ilatraia is aged in half new French barriques for 18 months and then matures in the bottle for at least one year.
