Vibrant, transparent cherry red. Beautifully fresh and already complex aromas of cherry, cranberry, walnut, anise and liquorice root, with perhaps a hint of zesty blood orange. There’s a wonderful woodsy earthiness going on underneath. The aromas are ripe, but the multi-faceted nuances are far more suggestive of Burgundy than the character you would expect from Australia or New Zealand. Seamlessly supple in the mouth, with superbly well-knit acidity and tannins, this is really finely-crafted and elegantly-balanced. An absolute joy to drink immediately, this could also age gracefully for at least another 7-10 years…if you can keep your hands off it. - Tom King, Fine Wine Manager
